Screen Fortress is a bit less than a fortress but nevertheless it does provide a way to stop someone for prying into your computer without a little effort. Installation: Drag the folder to your hard drive after unstuffing. Double click on either file (they should stay in the same folder to work) to start. You can place it or an alias of it in your startup folder to lock the computer at startup if you have a server or other computer needing a bit of security. Screen Fortress is simply a bound Filemaker Pro document. It puts nothing in your system folder and as such shouldn't affect anything. You don't need Filemaker Pro to use it. I have included the unbound version of screen fortress. I do this in case someone would like to see the simple database programming. This part will not work without Filemaker though. A shaded diagram showing the ranges of physical properties makes it easy to visualize relationships across the periodic table. It keeps you informed about stock and history, shows the current value of your wine collection , keeps track of your suppliers, and gives you the option of ordering directly from within wine cellar. Order forms can be customized for any language. System requirements: Macintosh or Windows computer and Filemaker Pro 3.0 or later. Because virtual wine cellar doesn‚t display overly fancy screen layouts, it will run smoothly on borderline performance systems (e.g. mac ii series). A 15" color monitor or larger is recommended. Key features: * intuitive, point and click interface - no knowledge of filemaker pro required. * fields for wine name, country, appellation, grape, year, maturity, etc. in logical grouping. * summaries for number of bottles, total cost, market value, and appreciation. * automatic reminders for wines that reached/passed maturity. * easy order - ordering directly from within virtual wine cellar using your computer's faxmodem or printed order form. * extensive finding and sorting functions. * displays your own rating both numerically and graphically. * optimized print form. * report function for further editing in your favourite word processor. * extensive, context-sensitive on-line help. The most current version of their driver doesn't work. On the website there's a download to update that driver specifically for OS9, but the updater itself crashes when it tries to update the Appletalk driver. This is with both dirty and completely clean installs of the HP software. HP has no recourse other than to pay for a service call, and I'm not about to pay them to ask why their software crashes.
