The SA Hierarchy Browser enables you to describe the SA Hierarchy graphically during a ProMod-PLUS session.
Using this browser you can gain access to all the Flow Diagrams and Mini Specifications in the SA Model. You cannot alter the hierarchy from the browser.
When you select "SA Hierarchy" from the Requirements menu the browser opens displaying the current system hierarchy. If the complete hierarchy is too large to be displayed in the browser then as much of the hierarchy as possible is displayed and the remaining parts are hidden. The hierarchy is scaled so that it fits in the window.
A Node with no hidden subtree is represented by a rectangle. A Node with a hidden subtree is represented by a rectangle with a double border.
You can also choose to hide part of the hierarchy (the subtree of a Node) by selecting "Hide subtree" from the popup menu of the Node.
To see a hidden subtree select "Unhide subtree" from the popup menu of the Node. Note that this operation is not possible if the subtree was hidden because of lack of space. The previously hidden subtree is re-displayed in the hierarchy.
If you just want to look at part of the hierarchy (the subtree of a Node) select "Generate subtree" from the popup menu of the Node. The browser now displays just the subtree scaled to fit in the window. To re-display the whole hierarchy select "Regenerate" from the browser Edit menu.
From the popup menu of each Node in the hierarchy you can edit its Flow Diagram and Mini Specification (creating them if they do not exist), and access the Annotations for its Flow Diagram and Mini Specification. If the Node has already been refined into a Flow Diagram you can Hide (Unhide) or Generate its subtree, perform an analysis or a report on the Flow Diagram (or the Flow Diagram including its subtree). Selecting the "Analyze" and "Report" commands from the Node menu is equivalent to selecting these commands from the Flow Diagram Selector.
If you double-click on a Node this carries out the Edit Flow Diagram command.
